Social Media Monopoly Board Game

Yes it's here the Social Media Monopoly the board game, bringing together everything we love about the web today into one place. Properties include Facebook, YouTube, Foursquare, Digg, Reddit, and Blogger, with the Jail now replaced with Myspace (where you are sent to think about what you've done). The board can be seen below, with the Mashable and Technorati cards below also. Enjoy.

Step Up to The Mic - Joint Venture Between Myspace and Titan Outdoor

Once again Outdoor refuses to lay down and admit defeat in the face of the fact that the online revolution is here, in another example which truly demonstrates that the two media can work as one. In a fantastic example by Titan and a three-week joint promotion with MySpace, called 'Step Up to the Mic', we see users stepping onto their soapbox and showing off their vocal power across 300 digital screens in the U.S, U.K and Ireland.

By visiting the “Step Up to the Mic” page on MySpace users can upload up to 50 characters of text and an image, and share their thoughts, messages, and best wishes to their mates or family members. As well as this using the pull of Myspace, a host of celebrities and music artists will be invited to communicate with fans, expressing all the things they are passionate about.

I actually do quite like this idea, which I really do think moves things in the right direction, reading some of the comments it does seem to be a real mixed bag, however Myspace does shine in its own individualism and non-conformity which I do think is quite endearing... if not completely my bag.

Agent Provocateur on Twitter

Agent Provocateur has become one of the latest brands to make its debut on micro-blogging social network Twitter (@msprovocateur). Tweets mainly include posts from their blog ‘Hello Agent Provocateur’, and other sporadic comments and replies (So pretty much everything you’d expect).

I know this is nothing really new, but it will give the brand a chance to show that, yes, anyone can follow the latest trend, but when that isn’t enough anymore, how do they stand out (and if there is one brand that should be able to do that it is Agent Provocateur). Plus where else would a fellow Twitterer be able to read about the ‘The History Of The Thong’?

Facebook the Movie - Coming to theatres near you!

Yes it's true, there is a movie being created about the global phenomenon we all know as Facebook. Aaron Sorkin, the creator of 'The West Wing', has agreed to apparently write the movie for Sony Pictures studio Columbia, and has even started up a Facebook group to discuss the film with users of the site.

It will tell the story of how Mark Zuckerberg along with Dustin Moskovitz and Chris Hughes, three Harvard grads, founded the site, and how it grew into the success it is today.

It will be interesting to see how the movie develops, and I will be sure to keep you up to date with any news. I also wonder if this will spark any other spin-offs e.g. Google, Youtube (although i doubt it).

TES Launches Facebook for teachers

The Times Educational Supplement has always been a one stop shop for anyone working in education, with its extensive articles, features, and recruitment section. With online creating ever more opportunities for natural migration the TES has launched TES Connect, a social network for anyone in the teaching profession.

The website features everything you would expect to find on a site like this, such as Teaching Recourses, Jobs Sections, Lesson Plans, and even a very handy Salary checker.

Although this is not really anything new with sites such as Linkedin etc, already providing similar services for various industries, TES Connect is already claimed to be the biggest social network serving a single profession. With its clean layout, and endless resource, I can see this becoming a very helpful site to those it is targeted at.
